‘2’ and ‘3’ are numbers. ‘100’ is also a number. The number of servants is 100. The number of children
is 3. 100 is a large number. 3 is a small number. The number of servants is large. The number of children is small. In the family of Julius, there is a large number of servants, [but] a small number of servants.
Medus is a Greek servant. Delia is a Greek maid. In Julius’ family, there are many Greek servants and Greek maids. Is Aemilia a Greek woman? Aemilia is not a Greek woman, but [a] Roman [woman]. Julius is not a Greek, but a Roman [man].
Sparta is a Greek town. There are three towns: Sparta, Delphi, and Tusculum. Of these, there are two Greek towns and one Roman town. In Greece and in Italy, there is a large number of towns. Your Latin book
Here are two Latin books: an old book and a new book. Lingua Latina is your first Latin book. The title of your book is ‘Lingua Latina’. Your book is not old, but is new. In Lingua Latina, there are many pages and many chapters: the first, second, third chapters, and more. ‘Imperium Romanum’ is the title of the first chapter. The title of the second chapter is ‘Familia Romana’. In the second chapter, there are six pages. On the first page of the second chapter, there are many new words: vir, femina, puer, puella, familia, and more. The number of Latin words is large!
